How We Research
Accuracy is the whole point of this site, so it’s worth being transparent about how each page is made.
- We start from the primary texts — the Pali Canon, the Mahayana sutras, and the recognised translations — not from other websites.
- Every factual claim is checked against a named source (a specific sutta or verse) before it’s written down. Quotes and verse numbers are verified, never approximated.
- Where traditions disagree, we represent each on its own terms and attribute it clearly.
- Each article is edited by Tim Yu and is not published until its sources are in place.
We are committed to adding named, credentialed subject-matter reviewers for doctrinal pages, and we will credit them by name here and on the pages they review. Until a reviewer is named, doctrinal pages are founder-authored and checked against the primary texts.
You can see the sources for any article listed at the foot of that article.
