A teaching to begin the day

Daily Dharma

One real, sourced Buddhist teaching each day — the same for everyone, refreshed at midnight. Read it, sit with it, or draw another. Every line is traceable to the Pali Canon, the Dhammapada, or a clearly named teacher, and links to its full source — never an unsourced “Buddha quote.”

Today’s teaching

All conditioned things are impermanent. All conditioned things are unsatisfactory. All things are not-self.

The Buddha (Dhammapada 277–279)

One real, sourced teaching each day — the same for everyone, refreshed at midnight. Your streak and kept teachings are saved only on this device; nothing is sent anywhere.

A small daily practice

A single teaching, met each morning, can do quiet work over time. Let the line stay with you through the day; notice where it touches your life. When one speaks to you, follow it to its full page to read the source and what it means — or turn it into a card to share, attribution intact.

Go deeper than a day’s line: browse all our sourced Buddhist quotes, the Dhammapada guide, or the Four Noble Truths. Want to make your own image? Try the quote-image maker, or see all our free tools.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Daily Dharma draw?

It is a free, no-signup tool that gives you one genuine, sourced Buddhist teaching each day — the same teaching for everyone, refreshed at midnight in your own time zone. You can also tap 'Draw another' any time for a different teaching to sit with, keep favourites, and turn any teaching into a shareable image.

Are the teachings real and accurately sourced?

Yes. Every teaching is drawn from our fact-checked quotes library — lines from the Pali Canon and the Dhammapada, or clearly attributed words of teachers like the Dalai Lama, Thich Nhat Hanh, and Shunryu Suzuki. Each one links to its full page, where you can read the source and context. There are no fabricated or misattributed 'Buddha quotes' here.

Does it change every day?

Yes — a new teaching appears each day, the same one for every visitor, so it works as a small daily ritual. It rotates through the whole library, and you can always draw another or return to today's.

Is anything stored about me?

No account, no tracking, nothing sent anywhere. Your return-visit streak and any teachings you 'keep' are saved only in your own browser, and you can clear them any time by clearing your site data.

Can I share a teaching?

Yes. Press 'Make a shareable card' and the teaching opens in our quote-image maker, where you can style it and download or share it — with its real source printed on the card, so the wisdom travels with its true attribution.
